Better Together

O

ne of my core convictions is that we can almost always do more together than we can do alone. I know that this flies in the face of American individualism, but there is power when we team up. This is certainly true of global missions efforts.

ReachGlobal has been modeling this partnership ethos for a number of years. Consider the influential city of Berlin. A consortium of ministries, both European and international, is hoping to see 100 transformational kingdom communities planted in Berlin, one of the most post-modern and post-Christian cities on the European continent.

No one agency or group could do this by itself. Together, however, it's possible.

ReachGlobal consistently says that it owns nothing, controls nothing and counts nothing as its own. Therefore it's able to effectively partner with others who have the same mission and ethos. ReachGlobal's key German partner is a group called "Together for Berlin"—a coalition of some 80 or so evangelical and missional groups in Berlin.

In this issue, you read about a number of similar consortia—churches that have banded together in an alliance to make a difference in some part of the world. They come to the table along with agencies like ReachGlobal. Together, they pray, plan and think about how to work on common projects, support common missionaries and come alongside national movement leaders to help them accomplish their vision.

Just as teams of individuals make for the best ministry, so teams of churches that have common interests and objectives can make for leveraged ministry impact. Each church brings unique gifts, skills and resources that together make for a powerful combination.

If you have an interest in a specific part of the world and desire to pursue the expansion of the gospel there, let us know. Of course, in our age of globalization, your pursuit might not lead you overseas at all but connect you to an immigrant community here in the United States. In either case, we would love to serve you in connecting you with like-minded churches for strategic ministries around the globe.
