Undocumented aliens should make every attempt to enter this country through legal means—then find work. Your compassion is recognized; as for personal responsibility, both you and those seeking work illegally, are lacking and [are] the cause of many issues (e.g. draw on social services, added risk to national and individual security) in these present times!

No other country has provided more to so many than the US of A - your reasoning and actions lessen that ability.

I read all of the immigration articles with interest, but each barely skimmed the surface of the “issue.” Here in Arizona we are at “ground zero” for illegal immigration and while we are to love the people, what about what some of them “bring?” Our area is a hotbed for drug and human smuggling - slavery if you will - as well as cartels fighting on the border. What about the officers of the “state” who are killed? What about the disregard to the law of the “state” by those who continue to harass and damage property and livestock of ranchers on the border? The writers of the articles, if immigrants, came here through the “legal system” in place. As a former career military officer, I spent years overseas. No country opens their borders like the U.S. - there is “order.” While we are to love all through Christ and give Caesar what is Caesar’s, let’s not forget the our God is the God of order and not simply mercy. If He were, why were Canaan and other lands overrun by Israel at God’s command? Please do not get emotions confused with duty to God and country.
